Jack Sparrow

HAPPY HALLOWEEN PEOPLE!!

As you know, I am a huuuuge fan of Johnny Depp especially the characters that he played in most all of his movies and so for this year's halloween I chose to dress up as Jack Sparrow. Well, I only used the costume this afternoon to walk around my apartment to Eiffel Tower to take some pictures but of course I didn't wear this to watch a movie with my friends earlier tonight.

"The problem is not the problem, the problem is your attitude about the problem." - Captain Jack Sparrow

For this particular costume, I sacrificed quite some things. First, the vest is made from a nice long sleeves dress that I worn only once since it was the only piece of clothing that I had in this color. The fabric belts are made from a T-shirt and a lace cardigan, I cut them into some long square fabrics so I could tie them on my waist. Third, I made the hair accessories from a simple head piece, I cut it into small pieces and hang them on my little braided hair. The funny part is that you won't even believe that I made the headband from a shoe dustbag! That's because I didn't and don't have any thin red fabric, if you are guessing which shoe dustbag I used, you know, the red soles.

My name is Sherlock Holmes

Tadaaahhh, As you can see, for Halloween this year I decided to go as Sherlock Holmes. Surprised with my choice? Hahaha it's simply because I'm not really into those scary or spooky ghost things.

So, I had been literally looking around all over the city just to find the vest and the hat! And thank God after 2 days of searching here and there, I found them at some vintage markets. However, the unfortunate thing was, I can only find the vest in men's section which means the size is waaaay much bigger than my normal (asian) size and sooooo I tried to alter it my way (but it's still slightly bigger *sad*). The craziest part was making the smoking pipe and the coat. You won't believe I made the pipe from one of my paper shopping bag (yes, a paper bag) because the material is strong enough to create a fake pipe. And as for the coat, it was actually a normal trench coat (with sleeves) but after some cutting and sewing, voila! It turned out not so bad, right? ;)

Anyway, Happy (late) Halloween!!

Mad as hatter

So I decided to come out as Mad Hatter for this year halloween. I still remember how I used to be a fan of Alice in Wonderland since I was little and thanks to Disney for making the human version of it so we could see Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter in the movie. Since then, I have always wanted to try to dress as him!

Prepared the whole outfit for only one night and I sacrificed my lovely dress and some new fabrics, yes I cut my dress just to make the bow tie since that was the only dress I have with this kind of motif. The hardest part was making the hat hahaha it was so fun though!

Tell me what do you guys think and what are you going to be for this year halloween? =)
 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
